Julia Kaesmayr

Dr. Julia Kaesmayr has spent over a decade as a tango organizer and musicalizadora de tango, blending 30 years of social dancing with her academic insights to enrich the tango community. With a Ph.D. in psychology, she crafts engaging experiences at milongas, encuentros milongueros, and tango marathons across Europe and North America.
 
In September 2024, Julia co-created the Tango Connects Berlin conference, uniting tango professionals and scientists to explore the therapeutic potential of tango through trauma-informed teaching methods.
 
Her academic work in I/O psychology, culminating in a recent doctoral degree, now focuses on the mental health benefits of dyadic motion coordination with music, reflecting her dedication to both her studies and her passion for tango.
